Equivalent regional qualifications for A-level requirements (these can be found on the undergraduate programme you intend to study):

National College Entrance Examination (NCEE / Gaokao)

• A*AA: GPA 95% or higher; National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) (Gaokao) - 90%
• AAA: GPA 90% or higher; National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) (Gaokao) - 85%
• AAB: GPA 85% or higher; National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) (Gaokao) - 80%
• ABB: GPA 80% or higher; National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) (Gaokao) - 80%
• BBB: GPA 80% or higher; University Entrance Examination (UEC) (Gaokao) - 75%

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) can only be accepted where taught at one of the 19 International Schools approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

• A*AA: 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 85% average including relevant subjects.
• AAA: 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 85% average including relevant subjects.
• AAB: 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 80% average including relevant subjects.
• ABB: 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 75% average including relevant subjects.
• BBB: 6 subjects from grade 12 or CEGEP at B or better, or 70% average including relevant subjects.

Ambright Scholastic Test (AST)

• AAB: Accepted for entry to UG Engineering programmes only. AST English 200, AST Maths 200, AST Physics 200, Plus High School grade average of 80% or above.
• ABB: Accepted for entry to UG Engineering programmes only. AST English 200, AST Maths 200, AST Physics 200, Plus High School grade average of 80% or above.

Maple Leaf World Schools Program (MLWSP) Diploma

• A*AA: Five 1.0 credit Grade 12 subjects at 85% including mandatory subjects at 85%
• AAA: Five 1.0 credit Grade 12 subjects at 80% including mandatory subjects at 80%
• AAB: Five 1.0 credit Grade 12 subjects at 80% including mandatory subjects at 80%
• ABB: Five 1.0 credit Grade 12 subjects at 75% including mandatory subjects at 75%
• BBB: Five 1.0 credit Grade 12 subjects at 75% including mandatory subjects at 75%

Glasgow International College

We normally accept a Bachelor degree with the following grade equivalencies:

For 2025 admissions, please refer to University of Chinese Accepted Institutions 2025. Offer to entry to the University of Glasgow is entirely at the discretion of the University. We will only consider master's degree applications from graduates of Chinese universities listed in the table, and normally accept a Bachelor degree with the following grade equivalencies:

• For programmes requiring a UK 2.1 Honours degree: Bachelor degree with 70%/75%/80%/85% (depending on university attended)
• For programmes requiring a UK 2.2 Honours degree: Bachelor degree with 65%/70%/75%/80% (depending on university attended)

Grades given are MINIMUM entry requirements and do not guarantee an offer. In addition to the minimum weighted GPA requirements, for programmes with core module requirements we also value on academic performance on those relevant modules. Specific requirements can be found on each postgraduate taught degree programme page.

For Sino-foreign cooperative universities with independent legal status (such as Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, New York University Shanghai, etc.), we recognize the grading system as equivalent to that of the foreign university, typically requiring a minimum GPA corresponding to a UK 2:1 or 2:2 degree, with specific requirements detailed in the list. For applicants from articulation programmes and top-up degree programmes, please find our admission principles from notes above the table.
