Admission to the Graduate Program in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) requires a prospective applicant first be accepted by an advisor who is on the Graduate Faculty of the program. If you are interested in our program, please review the list of our faculty (https://fabe.osu.edu/our-people/faculty) and directly contact by email those faculty whose scholarly work aligns with your interests. Please ensure Lisa Pfeifer (pfeifer.6@osu.edu ) is copied on all communications with prospective advisors.
If a prospective advisor is interested in your application and encourages you to apply, please proceed with the online application process described below. Refer to the Graduate Admissions website for all application documents needed and specific instructions, http://gradadmissions.osu.edu/. An application file consists of an application, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, a Statement of Purpose), a curriculum vitae/resume, and three letters of reference. Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent) for the last bachelor’s or advanced degree earned. International students are required to submit proof of English proficiency (TOEFL score minimum of 79) unless you have received a bachelor’s degree or higher from an English-speaking country. Apply online at https://gpadmissions.osu.edu/. A nonrefundable $60 fee for U.S. students and $70 for international students is charged for each regular or supplemental application you submit to Ohio State for graduate study.
