Counseling Psychology
Counseling Psychology
The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology provides an intensive 90-unit Master's program. Receive outstanding preparation to become licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). We offer four optional emphases; Correctional Psychology, Health Psychology, Latino Counseling, or LGBT Counseling.
Counseling
The 45-unit MA in Counseling program is for students who wish to pursue work in which they will use counseling skills in a non-mental health setting but that still requires a Master’s degree. Examples of such work include career counseling, academic counseling in a college setting, behavioral health counseling in a medical setting, or pastoral counseling as a minister or lay person.
Applied Psychology
The 45-unit MA in Applied Psychology program is for students who wish to pursue a variety of human service fields. This degree program is designed to serve students who are seeking the academic preparation for work areas such as human resources, program development in community-based organizations, youth development work, or as preparation in applying for graduate level PhD work in any branch of psychology.

Get what you need to earn a preliminary teaching credential. Our Master of Arts in Teaching and Teaching Credential (MATTC) program prepares you to be a teacher who uses education as a tool for promoting social justice, racial equity, and respect for diversity.
Teacher Education (Online)
The online Master of Arts in Teaching and Teaching Credential (OMATTC) program allows students to pursue their passion of becoming a teacher in a convenient format. With full or part time enrollment options, the online program delivers the Santa Clara education in both a synchronous (content delivered in real time) and asynchronous (content can be viewed at any time) course schedule.
Teacher Education - Private School Pathway
In addition to earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, MATTC private school pathway candidates also fulfill the coursework required to apply for a California state preliminary teaching credential. All private school pathway candidates must teach at a California WASC accredited private school in order to be eligible for the program.
Catholic Teacher Education
Driven by our mission to serve local Catholic schools, we offer a Catholic Masters of Arts in Teaching (CatMAT) program: a two-year Master of Arts in Teaching specifically designed for current Catholic school teachers.
Excellence in Catholic Education and Leadership
ExCEL supports Catholic school educators through a program committed to developing teachers pedagogically, spiritually, and communally; and working for social justice through educational equity. Students receive a 100% tuition scholarship and work as teachers for TK-12 Catholic schools in local Dioceses, while also living in community with one another.

The Clear Administrative Services Credential Induction Program (CASC) provides administrators with comprehensive leadership development support through candidate assessment, individualized coaching, and professional development based on the California Professional Standards for Educational Leadership (CPSEL).
Preliminary Administrative Services Credential
The Preliminary Administrative Services Credential program is the first step for individuals who want to advance their career and become school principals or central office administrators in public schools. Our high quality Preliminary Administrative Services Credential prepares students for leadership positions in a variety of diverse school settings including public, charter and Catholic schools within the context of California’s Local Control Funding Formula and Local Control Accountability Plan.
