I really do believe that Berea college has been helpful to many students who are looking to receive an education without financial stress. It has a very diverse population, and you get the chance to have wonderful experiences. I studied Abroad twice with the help of Berea College. It is an academically rigorous institution, but the outcomes are so worth it! Students are receiving that liberal arts experience while also being able to focus on their interest and career goals. I would not have picked another college to have attended for undergrad; I am eternally grateful for Berea.

This will be the biggest mistake of your life. Berea is one fraud of a school. They lie every step of the admission process (and I suspect most of the reviews here are lies as well). Most of the majors are more or less a joke and only exist as a means to attract more "poor" students who can bring in scholarships. It has the highest ACT scores but the lowest postgraduate earnings in the region.

My overall experience at Berea College has been positive. I’ve appreciated the unique opportunity to earn a quality education without the financial burden that comes with most colleges. The work-study program stands out because it teaches responsibility, time management, and real-world skills alongside academics.
What I like most is the strong sense of purpose on campus. The faculty care, and the small class sizes make it easier to build meaningful connections. There is a clear focus on service, learning, and personal growth.
That said, there is always room to improve. I would like to see more support for mental health services and better communication between departments. Sometimes, navigating resources or getting clear answers can be frustrating.
Overall, Berea is a place that pushes you to grow, and it would benefit from investing even more in student support systems.
