The Art Museum of West Virginia University provides a welcoming and stimulating educational and research environment for diverse audiences to experience the transforming power of art. Places and Spaces

College of Creative Arts and Media students learn, perform and collaborate in 11 buildings across the WVU campus — a massive 150,000 square feet of labs, theaters, studios, classrooms and maker spaces.

Practice Rooms

Students can reserve a time or drop into our four practice suites offering multiple rooms, two for general instrumental/vocal and one each for piano and percussion with instruments and equipment installed.

Laura and Paul Mesaros Galleries

The Mesaros Galleries serve to educate students, faculty, and staff across the university as well as the larger Morgantown community, with special emphasis on art majors and students of art history. Exhibitions focus on innovative, experimental art that advances scholarship and discourse in the field.

Vivian Davis Michael Laboratory Theatre

The Vivian Davis Michael Laboratory Theatre is used for alternative style works, as well as traditional smaller pieces.

The West Virginia University School of Theatre and Dance will feature three mainstage productions this fall, starting with the touching story of a social worker managing a child neglect case.

New directors for Reed School and School of Music

Two accomplished faculty members were tapped to serve as school directors in the WVU College of Creative Arts and Media (CCAM) as of July 2025. Emily Corio is the new director of the Reed School of Media and Communications, and Michael Vercelli has been named the interim director of the School of Music.

WVU music student conducts American Pops Orchestra during Hispanic Heritage Awards

Maria Carmona, a music conducting doctoral student in the WVU School of Music, took the stage of the historic Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. to conduct the American Pops Orchestra (APO) during the 38th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards (HHA), airing Friday, September 26, 2025, on PBS.
