How to apply

To apply to the MSFS program, you must submit the application and all required materials. Our application information will help you through the process. 

Tuition

Master of Foreign Service students pay tuition at the established annual rate per credit hour of the Georgetown Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. MSFS is a 48-credit, full-time degree program. 

Tuition fees exclude individual health care or health insurance premiums, books and supplies, student fees, visas and any travel expenses. The Office of Revenue and Receivables provides additional information regarding tuition breakdown and student fees through the university. 

Health insurance is mandatory for all full-time students, though students may be eligible to waive the health insurance fee if they already have health coverage. For more information on waiving the health insurance fee, please contact the Student Health Insurance Office.

Dual degree tuition rates

  • J.D./MSFS: Tuition for your year taking courses exclusively at the School of Foreign Service will be charged at the current MSFS tuition rate. Tuition for the remaining years will be charged at the Law School rate. 
  • MBA/MSFS: Tuition for your program is charged at the current MBA tuition rate.
  • MPP/MSFS: Tuition for your program is charged at the current MSFS tuition rate.
  • MAGIC/MSFS: Tuition for your program is charged at the current MSFS tuition rate.
  • BSBA/MSFS and BSFS/MSFS: Tuition for the fourth year of your undergraduate program/first year of your graduate program is charged at the current undergraduate tuition rate. Tuition for your remaining years are charged at the current graduate tuition rate.
