Xidian University (Chinese: 西安电子科技大学), also known as University of Electronic Science and Technology at Xi'an, is a major research university located in Xi'an, the capital city of Shaanxi province, northwest China.

The university is regarded as having strong science and engineering programs, and is particularly famous in Information Technology related disciplines in China. It is a founding member of the Project 211 and 985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project.*(2)

Xidian University's distinguished reputation in research is reflected in its Chinese name, which means “Electronic Science and Technology”. Actually, according to the Ministry of Education of China’s Assessment, the following two Subjects at Xidian University were classified as State Key Subjects, including:
